On May 30, 2026, JamBoryVár returns to Székesfehérvár with a full-tilt, all-day art-and-sound takeover of the legendary Bory Castle (Bory-vár). Get lost in the castle’s maze-like courtyards, drift between music, exhibitions, workshops, and live performances, meet artists, hang in the gardens, and let a new story find you. Venue: 8000 Székesfehérvár, Máriavölgy 54. Heads-up: the published date may be unconfirmed—organizers suggest reaching out by email for updates and details.
The Big Courtyard: Sound, Movement, Openings
From 17:00, the main stage rolls out a tight schedule where music meets motion. Yologa with Fruzsi x Zituli Space Projekt launches the day: a flow yoga session soundtracked by techno—equal parts groove and breathwork. At the same time, Csorba Réka’s exhibition opens across the courtyard, inviting the first slow wander. At 17:50, the festival and exhibition have their official opening. Then a run of live sets: MUSICA MORALIA at 18:00, WAITING ROOM at 19:00, and MICRODOSEMIKE at 20:00. The night shifts up a gear at 21:00 with 96zen’s techno party. From 17:00 to 20:00, a Y2K workshop plugs into the early-evening energy—think hands-on, era-flavored creative play.
Elephant Courtyard (Elefántos udvar): Vinyl, Words, and Flow
Another pocket of the castle dials in warm analog. At 17:00, DJs in the Castle kicks off with a vinyl set by Mester Ármin and Kafkabeat. At 18:00, JAMBORY opens a photo exhibition by JavicK. Literary currents take over at 18:30: a live conversation with writers Virág Erdős (Erdős Virág) and Virág Szepesiné Gallai (Szepesiné Gallai Virág), set to Miles 100 vinyl selections by Kama3. At 19:30, Slam Poetry x DJ Zöld takes the mic, featuring Panna Kasó (Kasó Panna), Mariann Novák (Novák Mariann), and Lali Róth (Róth Lali) with musical underlay by Imre Szepesi aka DJ Zöld. At 20:00, Rapp Udvar lines up Ribveil Ravi and more, and at 21:00, WO 45! drives a vinyl rap party deep into the courtyard’s stone-and-lantern vibes.
Moiré Garden, Mini Lake, and the Immersive Room
The Moiré Garden gets its own pulse from 17:00 with rolling DJ sets and a live act by Királyipapság—an outdoor drift zone where sets stretch and the air moves. By the mini lake at 18:00, live painting brings in color: watch Lili Kiss (Kiss Lili) and Botond Szegedi (Szegedi Botond) build layers in real time against the water’s shimmer. Inside the Vagyóczki Room, the Sonic Climates installation runs from 17:00 to 20:00—an immersive environment by Khrystyna Kirik, Péter Teller, and Máté Janky that plays with texture, tone, and space.
Afterparty: Off-Site, On Fire
When the castle’s stone corridors finally cool, the crowd shifts to the Nyolcas Műhely for the afterparty. From 22:30, PARABA x JAMBORYVÁR lights the fuse for a late-night second act.
Where to Stay: Hotels Around Town
If you’re making a weekend of it, Székesfehérvár’s hotel scene has options across style and budget. In the city center, four-star properties promise clean lines and lake views with 86 rooms, refined interiors, and a big-breakfast concept that aims to exceed expectations. Castrum Hotel**** sits at the edge of the historic downtown, 300 meters from the baroque main street, ideal for business travelers, tourists, and large families. Hotel Magyar Király****, in a nearly 200-year-old heritage building next to the theater and at the start of the pedestrian street, blends classic architecture with fresh interiors and space for conferences, weddings, and more.
A few minutes from the center, a 60-room hotel offers 24 singles, 24 doubles, and 12 apartments—convenient for short stays or stopovers. Hotel Platán, five minutes’ walk from downtown in a quiet green zone, puts restaurants, cafés, and sights within easy reach, and doubles as a venue for meetings, trainings, and conferences for up to 50 people. On Route 63, Szárcsa Hotel leans into an old-time vibe—each room and dining hall has a different look and color palette. The onsite restaurant, garden, indoor and outdoor wellness zones with pools and saunas, gym, kids’ corner, and Xbox room make it a one-stop retreat. In the historic center, Szent Gellért Hotel places museums, architectural landmarks, entertainment, and shopping all within a brief stroll. And 500 meters from the city center, Hotel Vadászkürt’s terracotta-toned spaces come with free Wi‑Fi for a simple, well-positioned stay.
June to December: What Else Is On
JamBoryVár is just one layer of a packed calendar. Early June brings the Wathay Code (Wathay-kód) escape room experience and Secret Places (Titkos helyek) tours through the old town’s most hidden corners, running in week-long windows across the summer and fall. The TOTUS TUUS exhibition spotlights the life and historical influence of Saint Pope John Paul II in recurring slots through September. June 6 brings the Pea Festival (Borsófesztivál), while mid-to-late June stacks up the FEZEN Festival (FEZEN Fesztivál), the 22nd Fire and Iron Festival (XXII. Tűzzel-vassal Fesztivál), and concerts like László Dés (Dés László) at the MET Arena (MET Aréna).
Through July and August, the city keeps the rhythm with repeated runs of the escape rooms and hidden-city tours. September layers in the Fehérvár Lecso-Cooking Fest (Fehérvári Lecsófőző Vigasság), candlelit concert nights like Queen & ABBA by Candlelight, The Night of Elegance – More Than a Musical with Andrea Mahó (Mahó Andrea), Attila Csengeri (Csengeri Attila), and Gábor Kovács (Kovács Gábor), plus MAJKA 2026 – Bindzsisztán Tour in Székesfehérvár. October and November add Rock Ballads by Candlelight, Zerkovitz–Topolcsányi: The Princess of the Orpheum (Zerkovitz-Topolcsányi: Orfeum hercegnője), and big-stage turns from Zsuzsa Koncz (Koncz Zsuzsa) and Charlie. Late November spins up The Music of Ludovico Einaudi – Tribute; December follows with Hans Zimmer by Candlelight and The Stars of NEOTON Família (NEOTON Família Sztárjai) to wrap the year.
