Budapest Play – Budapest Street Music Festival launches with big ambitions, created by Sziget Festival and Budapest Park. After a pre-selection round, 50–60 street musicians will perform across the city at ten buzzing spots, turning everyday routes into mini stages and rush hours into surprise gigs.

When and Where

The first edition runs from Thursday, July 30, to Saturday, August 8, 2026, with music flooding the capital on July 30–31 and August 1, 6, 7, and 8. Expect performances at Deák Square (Deák tér), Batthyány Square (Batthyány tér), Margaret Island (Margitsziget), and by Keleti Railway Station (Keleti pályaudvar), among other hubs—an invitation to wander, linger, and let the set lists choose your path.

Why It Matters

The goal is to spark a new tradition: a citywide celebration of busking that brings emerging talent to everyday corners. With multiple stages under open skies and a rotating cast of performers, Budapest becomes the venue, the streets the soundtrack, and passersby the front row.

2025, adrienne
