The Dunaföldvár National Animal and Flea Markets are back in 2026, bringing one of Tolna County’s most storied, bustling fair scenes to life on seven Sundays from spring to late autumn. Held at the market field by Lower Lake (Alsó-tó), plot number 0268/1 in 7020 Dunaföldvár, the fair draws farmers, breeders, traders, collectors, and families from neighboring towns and counties. It’s a heady mix: part practical marketplace, part social ritual, with pre-dawn bargaining, old friends greeting each other, and the smell of fresh, sizzling fair food curling through the aisles.

What you’ll find
On the animal side: poultry, small animals, livestock, feed, and all the gear tied to animal husbandry. Over in the flea market: clothing, footwear, household tools, handmade crafts, plants, seasonal goods, and a wide variety of antiques. The vibe is classic Great Plain marketplace energy—lively from the crack of dawn, with haggling at the stalls and a friendly, direct tone that regulars swear by.

This is more than a buying-and-selling stop. The fair keeps traditional market culture alive and energizes the local economy by giving space to direct producer sales and face-to-face trade. Vendors and visitors travel in from several counties, adding scale and color to a regional hub that’s stayed relevant for decades.
How to trade here
Two paths: season pass holder or casual vendor.
1) Season pass holders must:
– Have valid registration via the E-municipality portal (client gateway): submit the form “Declaration for commercial activity at market – fair – public space” to Dunaföldvár Municipality.
– Operate a valid business: company, sole trader, primary producer with FELIR number and NÉBIH activity ID, primary producer’s family farm (OCSG), or be an invoice-capable private seller (folk artist, craftsperson, painter, ceramicist).
– Pay the annual rental fee.
2) Casual vendors:
– May sell by paying the site fee and parking fee on the day.
Stall allocation rules
One vendor can take annual usage (season pass) for up to 12 designated units per year, with no more than 4 adjoining units at one location, and across a maximum of 3 locations inside the fair. Rented units cannot be swapped or resold. Any breach means immediate termination of the rental contract without refund. The Municipality of Dunaföldvár may reassign a vendor’s place year to year.
To sign an annual rental contract, you must have a valid business license, enterprise registration, primary producer FELIR number and NÉBIH activity ID, qualify as an OCSG family farmer, or be an invoice-capable private seller (folk crafts, artisan, painter, ceramicist). Any change in your data must be reported in writing to the Municipality within 15 days.
Fees and local discounts
Fees are set by Municipal Resolution 70/2023. Permanent Dunaföldvár residents who are primary producers, OCSG members, sole traders based in Dunaföldvár, or Dunaföldvár-registered companies pay 75% of the standard site fee. For the resident primary producer and OCSG discount, show your ID card and address card. Prices are applied locally in HUF; USD conversions are not used on site.
