On the Water and Into the Reeds
From May through June, paddle the reed beds on “Canoe Tour in the Reeds of Lake Fertő” (Kenutúra a Fertő nádasában) in 9494 Balf (May 7, 14, 21, 28; June 16, 18, 23, 25). Prefer a silent cruise? Hop on “E-Boat on Lake Fertő” (E-Hajóval a Fertőn) in 9421 Fertőrákos with regular sailings on May 7, 14, 16, 21, 28, 30; June 4, 9, 11, 18, 20, 25. “Panorama Run” (Panorámafutás) brings scenic running on May 10 in Fertőrákos, Fő u. 1.
Wildlife, Wine, and Wheels
“Hany Safari” (Hanyi szafari) wildlife outings pop up all season: May 8, 15, 22, 29; June 5, 12, 17, 19, 24; July 1. On May 21, the Saint Urban’s Day Wine Selection (Szent Orbán-napi Borválasztás) pours the region’s best in Hegykő, 9437, Kossuth Lajos utca 74. Cycle the “Along the Chapels’ Route…” (“Kápolnák útján…”) on May 30 from 9483 Sopronkövesd, tracing the cultural trail of the Alpokalja.
Family Days and Summer Nights
Children’s Day in Hegykő (Gyereknap Hegykőn) lands on June 7, followed by the three-day “1 Drop Festival” (1 Csepp Fesztivál) in Hegykő, June 12–14. Music lights up Fertőrákos with “Somewhere in America – Bon-Bon 30” (Valahol Amerika – Bon-Bon 30) on June 21, then the Roby Lakatos Gypsy Jazz Project in concert on June 27.
