From May to winter markets, it’s a marathon of culture, local flavor, and open-air spectacles. Here’s what’s on the horizon through late 2026 into early 2027 — and where you can catch it all.
Mid-May: Film, Folk Dance, Design, and Green Days
May 11–17 brings a full week of performances at the Szeged National Theater (Szegedi Nemzeti Színház), with tickets ranging roughly from $5.50 to $81. The 10th Vilmos Zsigmond International Film Festival (May 13–17) screens bold cinema, while the 34th National Children’s and Youth Folk Dance Festival (May 15–17) lights up stages with traditional moves and live music. January 8 brings Michael Cooney’s Guess Who’s Living Here?! (Nicsak, ki lakik itt?!; with Funny Money vibes) from Bánfalvy Stúdió ($21–$24). On Feb 19, Ray Cooney’s Run for Your Wife (Kölcsönlakás–style misunderstandings) keeps the laughter rolling ($22–$24).
