The Middle Ages come alive in Visegrád. Every Saturday at noon through autumn, the Renaissance Restaurant whisks families back to the 14th century with the Visegrád Knightly Games and a royal feast at the foot of the Danube Bend. Book early and claim a front-row spot for steel-on-steel duels, falcon flights, and a banquet fit for a king and queen.
Where and when
Guaranteed start: every Saturday at 12:00. Location: Salamon Tower (Solomon Tower). Members of the Order of Saint George stage a vivid, often witty tournament showing how warriors once fought for the king’s and queen’s favor in medieval Visegrád.
Be crowned for a day
At the start, the knights pick a king and queen from the audience, cloak and crown them, then parade in to demonstrate archery, melee skills, and daring challenges before the royal couple and their guests. The show closes with a hands-on session where visitors can try medieval weapons under knightly guidance. A royal hunting hawk takes to the sky to brighten the spectacle.
