dónde: 2025 Visegrád, Duna-parti út 1.

Book early for 2026’s Visegrád Knightly Games and Feast, one of the Danube Bend’s (Dunakanyar) most exciting family events, running every Saturday in autumn too. Organized by the Renaissance Restaurant at Duna-parti út 1 in Visegrád, dive back into the Middle Ages. Guaranteed start every Saturday at noon at the Salamon Tower. Members of the St. George’s (Szent György) Knightly Order stage a spectacular tournament showing how 14th-century warriors fought for the king and queen’s favor in Visegrád.

The Show

Knights pick a king and queen from the crowd, draping them in royal cloaks and crowns. At the king’s call, knights march in, proving their skill with medieval weapons in target shooting and duels for the royal couple and guests. Duels recreate knights’ bravery and daring with realism, excitement, and humor. A royal falcon flyby adds flair. The show ends with trying medieval weapons alongside the knights. Multilingual show in Hungarian, German, English, and Italian; other languages via interpreter. Groups of 30+ welcome anytime. Eat before or after at the Renaissance Restaurant.

Pros
+
Super family-friendly with kid-friendly pricing at $19, interactive king/queen selection from the crowd, and hands-on medieval weapons for everyone to try
+
No Hungarian language skills required since the show's in English, German, Italian, and Hungarian
+
Easy to reach from Budapest by public bus (about 1 hour via HEV train + bus) or by car on scenic roads along the Danube
+
Affordable bang for your buck at $38 per adult including the tournament, falconry, and a massive royal feast with venison stew, roasted turkey, and ribs
+
Thrilling, authentic 14th-century knight duels with humor and excitement that feel straight out of a movie
+
The feast is a highlight with hearty, tasty medieval grub like creamy stews and honey ribs, plus ice cream – beats airport food any day
+
Stacks up nicely against US Renaissance Faires or UK jousting events but in a real Hungarian castle tower for that extra authentic vibe
Cons
Visegrád's a hidden gem in the Danube Bend but not super well-known to US tourists compared to Budapest or major Euro spots
Knightly games are fun and familiar from games/movies, but similar medieval festivals are bigger in places like Germany or England
Limited to specific March dates in 2026 plus autumn Saturdays, so timing might not line up with your trip
Public transport works but involves a transfer from Budapest; renting a car makes it smoother if you're not into buses
