Ópusztaszer’s National Historical Memorial Park is turning history into a hands-on adventure again in 2026. The Kalandos Emlékhely (Adventurous Memorial Site) program series runs all year, refreshing every month with new themes and activities so returning visitors always find something new. It’s not just about looking at exhibits — it’s about stepping into them, asking questions directly of experts, and trying out traditional crafts and skills yourself. If you’re after a family-friendly, experience-driven cultural day out in Hungary, circle this on the calendar.
Where to Go and What to Expect
The action unfolds across the Ópusztaszer National Historical Memorial Park, at 6767 Ópusztaszer, Szoborkert 68. Programs move between the open-air Skanzen, the Rotunda, the Herb House and garden, the windmill, and even the riding arena. Many sessions are casual, conversation-led, and designed to pull you into the texture of everyday life in the past — from milling grain and carving wood to baking in a traditional oven and learning how people kept house a century ago.

Why It Works
The Kalandos Emlékhely lineup blends touchable history with easygoing conversations and open-air fun. You bake bread you can taste, read clues you can solve, carve wood you can hold, and meet horses up close. And with dates spaced across June — the 5th and 6th; 10th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 26th, 27th, and 30th — there’s room to find the day that fits your plans. Show up curious, leave with flour on your hands, herb tips in your pocket, and a different sense of how the past still lives here.
