Győr’s cultural calendar for 2026 and 2027 is packed with festivals, symphonic showstoppers, theater marathons, candlelit concerts, family days, and major touring productions across multiple venues. From the Rába riverside to the historic synagogue and the powerhouse Richter János Hall, the city is planning something for every taste—and every age group.
May 2026: Symphonies, puppets, and a folk-gastro splash
Start with the Győri Régiségvásár (Antiques Fair) on May 17, then slide into “Fantasztikus szimfónia” with the Győri Filharmonikus Zenekar at the Richter János Concert Hall the same day, with tickets from roughly $19.50. The beloved Vaskakas Bábszínház keeps families busy May 9–17 and May 23–31 with puppet theater from about $6.20 to $37.90. On May 18, Hontvári takes the podium at the orchestra’s home ($22). The following night brings Best of Musicals Győr to the Richter János Concert and Conference Center at about $16.20.
The Győri Nemzeti Színház runs strong May 12–20, May 21–23, and May 26–31 with a wide slate priced roughly $8.70–$54.40. Don’t miss Tvrtko – Chernobyl 40, an exclusive talk on May 21 at the Molnár Vid Bertalan Cultural Center ($21.40). June 2026: Book Week, DUNA FESzT, and a running festival

Summer 2026: Kids, spritzers, and a baroque wedding
July 3–5, the 19th Győrkőcfesztivál transforms the city for kids. Concert-wise, Valami Új features Cafuné – A noite da saudade on July 8 ($9.60). Győr Rotary Spritzer Days (Győri Rotary Fröccsnapok) pours classic wine spritzers July 17–18, the antiques fair returns July 19, and lakeside vibes arrive July 25 at Tóparty. In August, Valami Új hosts Bolba Éva Trio – Transcript on the 5th ($9.60). The famed Baroque Wedding (Barokk Esküvő) sweeps through town August 7–8 with period pomp. The Győri Régiségvásár lands August 16, and Győr Wine Days (Győri Bornapok) closes summer August 27–29.
Autumn 2026: Candlelight hits and comedy
The antiques fair cycles back September 20. On September 26, a Hans Zimmer candlelight concert lights up the Győri Zsinagóga (Synagogue) for about $37.90. October brings Vedd fel, ha mered! on the 8th at Richter ($24.50–$27.20) and the operetta The Csárdás Princess (Csárdáskirálynő) on the 24th ($24.50–$35.40), alongside Vivaldi: The Four Seasons by candlelight at the synagogue ($35.40–$40.90). 2027 Highlights: Cooney comedies and superstar tributes
The new year opens with Ray Cooney classics at Richter: Kölcsönlakás on January 2 ($27.20), Funny Money on January 3, and A miniszter félrelép on January 4 ($21.40–$26.80). Spring crescendos with MICHAEL – The Michael Jackson Show from London’s West End on April 23 ($24–$40.30) and ARETHA FRANKLIN Live Show starring Gisele Jackson on May 22 at the Olympic Sport Park ($24–$40.30).
