It’s a curated day out that starts on the water and ends in vineyards, with dates running through May and beyond, all under the watch of organizers who reserve the right to tweak times and programs if needed.
How the Day Unfolds
Depart from either Fonyód or Balatonfenyves at 10:00. Both routes bring you to Badacsony by midday. From there, a minibus whisks you to the Káptalantóti Market for 1.5 hours of free time and shopping among local makers and food stalls. Expect to be back by 15:00, depending on add-ons. Every Sunday departure requires advance coordination and booking, and the program only runs when minimum headcounts are met. Scheduled public transport services are not subject to the group-size limit.
Option 1: Fonyód Fast Boat
Kick off from Fonyód on a high-speed boat bound for Badacsony, then transfer to the minibus to the market. The base program costs 9,000 HUF ($25.43) per person and includes transport to Badacsony and on to Káptalantóti, plus market time. If you want to extend your afternoon, choose one of two curated excursions after the market:
– Folly Arboretum & Winery: 1.5 hours of free roaming in terraced botanical gardens with sweeping lake views, plus a tasting of three drinks—choose syrups or wines.
– Badacsony Wine Loop: Visit the Istvándy and Laposa wineries, with three-wine tastings at each cellar.
With the afternoon add-on, the Fonyód-based program is 16,000 HUF ($45.18) per person. This route runs every Sunday at 10:00 with an expected return by 15:00. It requires at least 10 participants, aggregated from multiple individual bookings if needed.
Option 2: Balatonfenyves Pleasure Cruise
Prefer a gentler glide? Depart Balatonfenyves aboard the Szent Benedek sightseeing boat to Badacsony, then continue by minibus to the market for the same 1.5-hour wander. The base price here is 12,000 HUF ($33.90) per person. Add the same two afternoon choices:
– Folly Arboretum & Winery with a three-drink tasting (syrups or wines) and free time.
– Istvándy and Laposa wineries with three-wine tastings at each stop.
With the add-on, this package is 21,000 HUF ($59.32) per person. Sunday departures are at 10:00 with return by 15:00, and a minimum of 15 participants is required for this route, again combinable from individual bookings. As with all options, the day only goes ahead at prearranged, preordered times.

– Quiet top-floor apartment: Separate entrance; three bedrooms (two doubles and one triple); kitchen; dining room; bathroom with tub; two toilets; and a stair hall. Outside: large fenced yard with grill, swing bed, cauldron stand, sandbox, pool, and parking.
– Air-conditioned two-bedroom in a cul-de-sac near Fonyódliget’s free beach (five minutes on foot). A fenced, manicured lot; 430-square-foot apartment; SZÉP Card accepted.
– Year-round apartments with private entrances on the south shore in Fonyód, boasting glorious views over the lake.
– Panoramic open-plan kitchen apartment a minute from the water, facing the northern shore.
– Zöldkert Restaurant (Zöldkert Vendéglő) in the Fonyódliget Holiday Park: a restaurant set in a leafy, quiet spot with pension-style apartments offering solid accommodation inside the park.
– Hotel Balaton: In the center of Fonyód, 330 feet from the lake and marina and 820 feet from the beach. Capacity for 50 guests. Rooms come with showers, minibars, cable TV, smoke detectors, and fire alarms. Apartments include mini-kitchens.
– A beachfront hotel in Fonyódliget on 4.2 acres along the Balaton bike path with its own beach. Currently closed, reopening June 8, 2026, promising constant swimming access for guests.
