Tiszafüred rolls out a full slate of culture, food, music, sports, and heritage in 2026, with lakeside fun on Lake Tisza (Tisza-tó), baths, fishing, free beaches, and family programs across multiple venues. Dates may change, but the lineup is stacked from Children’s Day to Advent candle lightings, with recurring producers’ and craft markets anchoring each month.
June: Cars, Archaeology, Museums
June opens with City Children’s Day (Városi Gyereknap) on May 31. National Cohesion Day takes over Halas Square (Halas tér) on June 4. Petrolheads get two treats on June 6: the 2nd Tiszafüred American Car and Tuning Meeting (II. Tiszafüredi Amerikai Autó és Tuning Találkozó) and a parallel American car and tuning meet at Halas Square. On June 13, Archaeology Day (Régészet Napja) invites volunteers to be archaeologists at Church Hill (Templom-domb) and Morotva-part in Tiszaörvény. Families return June 20 for Night of Museums (Múzeumok Éjszakája) at the Endre Tariczky Archaeological Exhibition. The Lake Tisza Producers’ and Craft Market pops up June 21, while Summer Evening Concerts (Nyáresti koncertek) bring shows to Main Square (Fő tér) June 26–28. On June 27, bring grandparents for a shared museum adventure at the Endre Tariczky Exhibition.
July: Endurance and Festival Vibes
The Ultra Lake Tisza Running Race (Ultra Tisza-tó Futóverseny) spans July 3–5, circling the lake twice in a weekend of endurance. Tisza-tó Fest lights up July 9–11. The market returns July 19. The Festival of Hungarian Lakes (Magyar Tavak Fesztiválja) hits Lake Tisza July 31–August 2 with music across Hungary’s lakes.
August: Sports, DJs, National Day
Test-drive new disciplines at the Sports Selector (Sportágválasztó) in the B.G.V. Sports Hall on August 8. The DJ Tour Fest lands on the Morotva Peninsula August 13–16. The market is back August 16. August 20 is packed: take grandparents to the László Darabos Ethnographic and Local History Exhibition, cruise the American car and tuning meet at Halas Square, and salute the Foundation of the State (Államalapítás Ünnepe). Summer Evening Concerts return August 20–22. Wrap the month with Tiszavég Day (Tiszavégi Nap) on August 30.
September–October: Learning, Dance, Remembrance
Dig into archaeology programs September 11 and 26 in Tiszaörvény. Harvest-themed museum education for preschoolers and pupils runs September 18 at the Gáspár Nyúzó Pottery Folk House (Nyúzó Gáspár Fazekas Tájház), with a market the same day. The Dance House (Táncház) shakes the Lake Tisza Art School HQ (Tisza-tavi AMI) on September 25. World Tourism Day arrives September 27. October 6 honors the Martyrs of Arad (Aradi Vértanúk). On October 23, bring grandparents to the Pál Kiss Museum, then attend the 1956 commemoration (56-os megemlékezés). The market returns October 25.
November–December: Lights, Tradition, Advent
A torchlit march on November 4, a family Memorial Day at the old cemetery November 7, and St. Martin’s Day (Márton-nap) education for preschoolers November 11. Markets run November 15 and 28, with a Dance House on November 21. Advent prep workshops at the Endre Tariczky Exhibition on November 27 and December 11. Tiszafüred Advent spans November 29–December 20 with Sunday candle lightings on Main Square (Fő tér) (First: Nov 29; Second: Dec 6; Third: Dec 13; Fourth: Dec 20). Kids get St. Nicholas (Mikulás) at the Pál Kiss Museum on December 4 and a 19th-century Christmas program on December 18. From St. Lucy’s Day to Epiphany (Luca naptól Vízkeresztig) by the Lake Tisza AMI Youth Dance Ensemble performs December 12, alongside the Advent producers’ and craft fair December 12–13.
