dónde: 7400 Kaposvár, Fő utca 65-67.

Kaposvár’s Vaszary Park turns into a wonderland for kids this summer as the BábSzínTér troupe rolls out a packed season of puppet theater, hands-on camps, and festival stops across Hungary. The action centers on 7400 Kaposvár, Fő utca 65–67, where families can find information, phone contacts, and images, and where producer-performer Tímea Tünde Csíkvár helps anchor the program. June opens with a special kindergarten season pass and a beloved touring tale: Angel Lambs (Angyalbárányok), performed by Gyöngyi Écsi’s story theater, popping up in multiple morning slots to meet the littlest audiences where they are—fresh, curious, and giggly at 9:00 and 11:00 on June 2–4.

June: Gentle starts, bold finales

On Saturday, June 6, the Cucorka Children’s Puppet Players’ Meeting (Cucorka Gyermek Bábjátékos Találkozó) gathers young puppeteers at 9:00, a community-minded showcase that primes the stage for the evening’s crowd-pleaser. From 17:00, the 2026 Season-Closing Park Theater Festival (Évadzáró Parkszínházi Fesztivál 2026) brings open-air energy; at 18:00, the evergreen trickster László the Valiant (Vitéz László) storms in, wooden sword and quick wit in tow. The festival continues Sunday, June 7, at 10:00 with the Udvarhely Puppet Workshop (Udvarhely Bábműhely) and an 11:00 performance of The Old King’s Legacy (Az öreg király hagyatéka), a courtly tale threaded with craft and humor.
June 22 returns to Kaposvár for Kisbaka Camp (Kisbaka Tábor), where János Pályi leads László the Valiant and the Cursed Mill (Vitéz László és az elátkozott malom). The story—a cursed mill, a stubborn hero, a string of comic scrapes—threads June into a road show: June 27–28 sets up the GolyóZOO play area (GolyóZOO játéktér) and performances at Veszprém’s Kabóciádé Festival, while June 28 dashes east to the Tale Thread Festival (Meseszál Fesztivál) in Békéscsaba for a late-afternoon László outing.

July: Festivals, village vibes, and camp days

July 3 returns to Kisbaka Camp in Kaposvár with Pályi’s László-and-the-mill. Then it’s Győr’s turn: July 4–5, the Győrkőc Festival sprawls across Children’s Village (Győrkőcfalu) and Story City (Meseváros) with GolyóZOO play zones, a 9:00 play area start, and László shows at 11:00, 18:00, and into Sunday at 10:00 and 17:00. On July 19 at 15:00, Mosonmagyaróvár hosts the cursed mill saga, proving the classic still crackles in the open air.
The final week of July tightens the focus on making, not just watching. From July 27–31, the Puppet Play Camp (Bábjáték tábor) immerses kids in puppet play led by Tímea Tünde Csíkvár and János Pályi, daily from 8:00. Think building characters, learning movement, mastering timing—then sharing it all with new friends.

August: Make, play, repeat

The workshop rhythm returns August 10–14, again at 8:00 daily, guided by the same duo. It’s a second chance for newcomers and a deeper dive for returnees: sharpen your craft, try fresh scenes, and leave summer with a handmade hero and the skills to bring it to life.
From gentle morning tales to festival fireworks and maker camps, BábSzínTér’s 2026 summer turns puppetry into a season-long adventure—rooted in Kaposvár, rolling across the map, and always ready for the next laugh.
