Art that stares back

Community week
Közösségek Hete unfolds citywide from May 18–24, bringing workshops, neighborhood meetups, and shared activities that turn Marcali into a living lounge of local connections. Expect pop-up gatherings and participatory programs designed to knit residents and visitors together.
Thought leaders on stage

Across the event horizon
May 21 belongs to the cosmos. The Csillagász előadás 3.0! – Fekete lyukak talk promises a playful tour of galactic riddles, with tickets at $5.70 (2,000 HUF) available on-site and online.
Kids first, picnic later
May 31 turns Széchenyi Park into a giant blanket-friendly playground. Bring a throw and a brimming picnic basket; the organizers supply the memories. Expect games, performances, and low-stress lounging for families.
Summer starts in the pool
On June 6, the Marcali Municipal Thermal Spa flips to summer mode with a Season-Opening Party: Kölökparádé for the kids, a hearty potato-dish cook-off, splashy water games, and a veteran vehicle meet that fires up the nostalgia. Sun, steam, and revving engines all in one place.
Markets and more making
June 13 brings a covered-market Garage Sale to Marcali’s Covered Market (Fedett Piac)—hunt for curios, vintage finds, and everyday steals. Then metal takes the spotlight: artisan Ferenc Pintér opens a rolling metalwork exhibition in the Cultural Promenade’s Permanent Gallery June 24–27, then weekly blocks from June 29–July 4 and straight through July (6–11, 13–18, 20–25, 27–Aug 1) and August (3–8, 10–15, 17–22, 24–29), wrapping on August 31. Forged forms, precise joins, and cool surfaces anchor a summer-long craft showcase.
