Explore Gyula’s historic downtown on a guided summer walking tour led by expert guide Gábor Bánkuti. Every Monday and Thursday in July 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM, small groups of 2–15 set off from the Tourinform office to see the city’s standout sights—exteriors only—and hear the stories behind them. Tickets are 3,000 HUF per person. Book by 5:00 PM the previous day at the Tourinform office or online. Visit Gyula Card holders receive a complimentary Gyula and Surroundings guidebook.
Route and Highlights
The loop winds from the Tourinform office through City Hall Street (Városház utca) to Harruckern Square (Harruckern tér), the World Clock, and Kossuth Square. Stops include the Mária House (Máriás ház), the Ferenc Erkel Memorial House (Erkel Ferenc Emlékház), the Kohán Gallery, the Ladics House (Ladics-ház), the Hundred-Year-Old Confectionery (Százéves Cukrászda), City Hall, St. Nicholas Church, the 1848–49 Honvéd Officers’ Memorial, the Castle, the Castle Spa, and Almásy Mansion. Duration: 120 minutes.
