Marcali is rolling out a year of culture, color, and community fun across multiple venues, with a packed stretch from late May into summer. Expect exhibitions, family days, splashy season openers, and markets that turn the town into a lively circuit for locals and visitors of all ages. Dates may shift, so plan with a little flexibility—and bring your picnic blanket when asked to.
Exhibitions in Focus
From May 25–30, “megint ELÉG” (Enough Again) brings photographer Gabriella Csoszó together with the Radnóti Theatre (Radnóti Színház) for a sharp look at social issues at the Kulturális Korzó Contemporary Gallery. Running alongside it in the upstairs gallery of the same venue: “Virágok között” (Among Flowers), a serene exhibition by amateur painter Róbert Bartis, May 25–30, then continuing June 1–6, June 8–13, June 15–20, June 22–27, and June 29–30. This floral thread returns briefly before making room for metal: craftsman Ferenc Pintér opens a metalwork showcase in the Kulturális Korzó’s Permanent Gallery June 24–27, then holds steady week by week from June 29–July 4, July 6–11, July 13–18, July 20–25, July 27–Aug 1, Aug 3–8, Aug 10–15, Aug 17–22, Aug 24–29, with a final day on Aug 31.
Family Days and Open-Air Energy
May 31 is all about kids at Széchenyi Park. Pack a blanket and a picnic basket, and the organizers will handle the rest—think games, shows, and a lazy, sunny vibe that’s easy to love.
Summer Splash: Season Opener
On June 6, the Marcali City Spa launches summer with a party: a kids’ parade, a potato-dish cook-off, water games, and a vintage vehicle meet-up. If you needed a reason to say hello to sunshine, this is it.
Market Finds
Treasure hunters, circle June 13: Marcali’s Covered Market hosts a garage sale. Expect bric-a-brac, bargains, and the odd gem, with locals turning out their attics for your next great find.
Organizers reserve the right to change dates and programs.
