Győrkőcfesztivál returns to Győr from July 3–5, 2026, turning the city into a giant, free playground for children. Billed as Hungary’s largest open-air, free children’s festival, it gives kids unlimited access to every show, workshop, and game with a festival wristband. The only “ticket” is a radiant smile brought along in the form of a photo or self-portrait drawing. Laughter, music, dance, theater, visual artists, writers, poets, and glittering moments flood the city across ten venues with 1,000 programs. No pocket money needed—everything’s free.
Opening Night: Music, Theater, and the City’s Keys
Friday kicks off the 19th Győrkőcfesztivál at 19:00 on the Pool Stage on Radó Island. The Kiskalász band and Csurgó band bring high-energy concerts, the Fitos Dezső Company performs a teen dance-theater excerpt from Kamaszodók, and the Vaskakas Puppet Theatre leads the crowd in learning the brand-new Győrkőc Song, premiering as the Radiant Győrkőc Song. How to Get Your Free Wristband
Bring your smile on your face—and on a photo or drawing of yourself—to pick up a Győrkőc wristband that grants free entry to all programs. Wristbands are available at information points operating during the festival. Besides the Festival Center at Vienna Gate Square (Bécsi kapu tér), three more info and wristband points welcome families from 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday at Széchenyi Square (Széchenyi tér), Gábor Baross Street (Baross Gábor út), and the Rába Double Bridge (Rába kettős híd). Each wristband is labeled with the child’s name and a parent’s phone number—so if anyone gets lost in the crowd, reunion is fast and easy.
July 3–5, 2026. Győr. Bring the glow.
