Veszprém’s calendar is stacked in 2026, with festivals, concerts, talks, family days, dance, guided walks, and intimate literary-meets-music evenings across multiple venues in the City of Queens. From the American Corner’s language events to VeszprémFest’s global headliners, there’s something on every week for locals and visitors alike.
Talks, clubs, and easygoing English
On May 27 at 17:00, the Eötvös Károly Library’s Kisfaludy Room hosts The Situation of Jewish Cemeteries in Hungary, a talk by coordinator Miksa Winkler. The following day, May 28, Conversation Club returns at the American Corner (Eötvös Károly Library) from 16:30 to 17:30, free for anyone high school age and up, with a drama theme—ideal if you’re prepping for an exam or need English for work.
On May 29, 16:00–18:00, the library’s ZUG space welcomes Silent Book Club Veszprém. Bring whatever you’re reading, settle in for quiet time, then optionally share your impressions. No assigned books, no pressure—chat only if you want, read together while keeping to yourself, and meet fellow introverts.
May 30 is busy at the American Corner: Kids’ Corner runs 10:00–11:30 with a movies theme (registration requested), while American Vibes follows 14:30–15:30—games, quizzes, and interactive topics on U.S. culture for high schoolers, not a class but a community where you practice English naturally, connect, and build confidence.

Plan your stay

Accommodation ranges from tranquil garden-quarter pensions to hotels by the Séd stream and the zoo’s gate, plus downtown boutique stays near Óváros Square—many with wellness corners, event halls, and easy steps up to the castle’s timeworn streets. Food and drink options cluster near the center, making it easy to roam from a concert to a glass of rosé, from a book talk to sunset over the Castle (Vár).
