From early summer into the holiday season, Ócsa rolls out a year-long community calendar heavy on tradition, culture, and easygoing fun. Expect heritage showcases, holiday happenings, folk music and craft fairs, family-friendly picks, and all-ages leisure programs anchored by local values and welcoming vibes across multiple venues in the 2364 area code.
June’s Big Kickoff
June 5 is stacked. First up: Loud Friday at #abisztró. Fridays here aren’t always about full-throttle partying—sometimes you just want a good chat, a great drink, and a playlist that fits your mood. Every week brings a different sound—funk, house, techno, retro, even a by-request set if it suits the night.
Also on June 5, the Summer-Welcoming Catholic Charity Potluck Ball invites everyone to a relaxed evening with a backyard-party feel, music, conversation, and laughter—indoors and outdoors under a tent—raising spirits and support for a good cause. Rounding out the day, the city hosts the Teachers’ Celebration, a special evening for educators, caretakers, and every staff member shaping tomorrow—an ode to everyday heroes who pass on knowledge, values, and hope.
Ócsa Cultural Days at 50
From May 8 to June 5, Ócsa Cultural Days marks its golden year: ÓKN 50. It’s a month-long mix of music, literature, theater, wellness, sports, faith, relaxation, and entertainment—rock to opera, folk to pop hits, plus contemporary genres. For five decades, Cultural Days has championed community and a vibrant cultural present. The full program unlocks soon, but expect an inclusive, memory-making festival stitched together by and for locals and visitors alike.

On June 6, the Peace Garden Cinema (BÉKE Kertmozi) lights up the back garden of the Egressy Gábor Leisure Center. Gates open at 20:00, film starts at 21:00. On screen: IF (2024, animation, comedy) [Képzeletbeli barátok]. Grab a blanket and settle in for big-screen escapism under the stars.

Make Your Own Waldorf Doll
June 22–26 brings an immersive five-day workshop for adults: a Waldorf doll-making camp designed for careful hands and unhurried minds. You’ll craft a large dress-up doll about 15.7 inches tall—no cutting corners, just mindful movements that shape something real. The process becomes personal, often reflecting its maker in subtle ways. The atmosphere? Supportive, accepting, and paced for each participant.
Kids’ Summer at the Open-Air Museum (Tájház)
From June 29 to July 3, the Open-Air Museum Summer Kids’ Camp (Tájházi) opens for children ages 6 to 12. It’s a day camp filled with hands-on activities and local heritage—a winning formula for curiosity and confidence during long summer days.
Eat, Sip, Gather
#abisztró is where the action is—by day a bistro, by night a meeting point. Think quality drinks, shared experiences, concerts, events, after-parties, and blowout nights. Set within the cultural center, it links into everything happening in Ócsa, but it draws a wider crowd too. If you’re chasing a vibe, this is the spot.
For those who prefer a cellar cool-down, the local wine cellar hosts tastings and wine dinners year-round in an atmospheric underground setting. It doubles as an event venue with standout ambiance—ideal for family celebrations, weddings, banquets, reunions, compact team-builders, and dinners.
Craving something casual? In town, a cozy restaurant welcomes 40 diners indoors, with room for 30 more on the summer terrace. It’s a go-to for romantic dinners, business lunches, or coffee with friends. Cool off with house-made soft serve and artisanal scoops, order a lemonade, or linger over coffee specialties—there’s a fix for every mood.
Plan Your Stay
If you’re overnighting in Budapest between festival days, Eurostars Palazzo Zichy sits in the heart of the Palace District, inside a 19th-century Neo-Baroque mansion commissioned by Count Nándor Zichy for his family. The façade and interiors preserve the building’s original splendor, with a dazzling glass dome greeting guests in the lobby. Nearby: the Hungarian National Museum, the Dohány Street Synagogue (Dohány utcai zsinagóga), the Great Market Hall, and the Holocaust Memorial Center, plus Semmelweis University’s Faculty of Health Sciences.
