Balatonfüred is packing the calendar with festivals, concerts, boat trips, exhibitions, lakeside yoga, and a wave of stand-up through summer 2026. Many programs run across multiple venues, with easy online tickets and plenty that are free but require registration. Here’s what’s happening from early June into August on the north shore of Lake Balaton.
Jazz, Books, Boats: June Warm-Up
June 11 brings the Balázs Elemér Group to Parker Jazz Club. On June 12 at 6:00 p.m., the House of Jewish Excellence (Zsidó Kiválóságok Háza) hosts the “Our Living Luminaries” series with guest Mihály Pósfai, professor at the University of Pannonia, academician, and geologist, in conversation. June 12–13 pairs literature, wine, and rhythm at the “Books-Wine-Jazz Festival” (Könyv-Bor-Jazz Fesztivál). Daily Balatonfüred sightseeing boat trips run June 8–12 and return in weekly blocks through July and August, joined by Balatonfüred cruises most weekends. The city’s cinemas roll out fresh programs weekly from June 8 onward.
June 13–14: Fashion, Family, Aerial Arts
On June 13 at 5:00 p.m., the Literary Fashion Salon (Irodalmi divatszalon) sits down with writer Virág Vass at the Katti Zoób Fashion Museum. The same day, “From Alpha to Omega VI – Family Picnic” (VI. Alfáktól Omegáig – Családi Piknik) takes over Gapa Terrace and the Park Forest in Balatonfüred’s Száka Dűlő. It’s free, but registration is required. Also June 13: “An Evening with Gabriella Jakupcsek” at the Anna Grand Hotel—free entry, table reservation recommended. June 13–14, the international Pole Artistic Hungary competition lands in town with pole art, glamour, hoop, and hammock categories: strength, elegance, and gasp-inducing moves on one stage. Boat excursions also run both days.
Art Openings, Yoga by the Lake
June 17 celebrates International Day of Yoga on Tagore Promenade at the Széchenyi statue esplanade starting at 5:30 p.m. On June 18, the Bem Memorial Choir (Bem Emlékkórus) joins Gabriella Csikhon and Attila Sári for a summer-opening concert. June 19 at 5:00 p.m., Arács Community House (Arácsi Népház, Lóczy Lajos u. 62.) opens Milán Takács’s “From Matter to Light” (Anyagból fénnyé) exhibition—paper-based but digitally created collages and experimental images, graphic design (posters, logos), and analog photos—introduced by museum educator Orsolya Nyitrai with live electronica/folktronica-downtempo by Levente Holb “Zsörk.” Open through August 24 during venue hours. The same evening at 6:00 p.m., the Huray Villas open Andrea Weichinger’s “Cloud and Water – Contemplation in the Landscape,” followed by a free concert by guitarist Gaspar Thorpe. Free add-ons at the Huray Villas: June 20, 9:00 a.m., yoga and breathwork with the artist; June 26, 6:00 p.m., Folly Arboretum showcase; Sept 18, 6:00 p.m., architect Miklós Weichinger on Balaton architecture; Sept 25, 5:00 p.m., BBC correspondent Nick Thorpe on the Carpathians and the Danube. The show runs free until Sept 27 during Tourinform office hours next door.
Solstice Week: Boats, Stand-Up, Night of Museums
June 19–21 brings more lake cruises. On June 20 a Chill Boat sails at sunset—panorama, music, cocktails. That evening the Dumaszínház sends heavy hitters Eszter Ráskó and András Péter Kovács to the Balaton Leisure and Conference Center (Balaton Szabadidő és Konferencia Központ) for a season-kickoff stand-up night (tickets 9,590 HUF ≈ 26 USD). Night of Museums (Múzeumok Éjszakája) lights up town on June 20. Also June 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Huray Villas: a Story Picnic (Mesepiknik) with tales by Elek Benedek and Zsuzsanna Czipri, told by Edit Szabadi. June 20–27, the Balatonfüred International Guitar Festival (Balatonfüredi Nemzetközi Gitárfesztivál) takes the stage.
Late June to Early July: Cinema, Mozart, Tours
Cruises and weekly movie programs continue June 22–28. July 1, organist Gergely Rákász plays MOZART at the Lutheran Church (Evangélikus Templom) (5,990 HUF ≈ 16 USD). July 3–5 brings more lake cruises. July 4 launches “Túrajó – Füred Wheel Adventure” (Füredi KERÉKkaland) and “Túrajó Walks – From Tree to Forest” (each 3,900 HUF ≈ 10.5 USD), plus another Chill Boat at sunset.
Mid-July: Salsa, Klezmer, Swim, Stand-Up
July 6–12: cruises and cinema. July 7–13: Hungarian Summer Salsa Festival. July 9 and 16: the Party Boat (Bulihajó) departs from the harbor. July 10–12: Hungary’s 1st International Klezmer Festival lands in Balatonfüred. July 11 offers another Chill Boat and the Allianz Bay Crossing & SUP Challenge (Allianz Öböl-átúszás & SUP Challenge). July 13–21: rolling cinema and boat schedules.
Dumafüred Takes Over
From July 17–26, Dumafüred 2026 floods the Balaton Leisure and Conference Center with star comics. Highlights (ticket prices converted at roughly 1 USD ≈ 370 HUF):
– July 17: István Dombóvári solo (7,990 HUF ≈ 21.5 USD); Duma Jam with László Hadházi, András Péter Kovács, Gergely Litkai (10,790 HUF ≈ 29 USD).
– July 18: All Stars lineups across the day (9,190–10,390 HUF ≈ 24.8–28.1 USD), plus “The Right of the Last Night (18)” by László Hadházi. City rabbi walk and House of Jewish Excellence tour also scheduled. Chill Boat returns at sunset.
– July 19: Zoltán Kőhalmi’s new solo (8,290 HUF ≈ 22.4 USD); flautist Eszter Horgas’s birthday concert “I’d Fly With You!” at the Anna Grand Hotel – Theater Hall (4,000 HUF ≈ 10.8 USD); András Péter Kovács’s “In Time” (8,490 HUF ≈ 23 USD).

July 24–26 brings Füred Art Week, an open-air art market. July 25 crowns the season with the 201st Anna Ball (Anna-bál). The same day: multiple All Stars comedy mixes, Hadházi’s “Dogs,” the White Ribbon – Szabolcs Izsák Memorial Regatta (Fehér Szalag – Szabolcs Izsák Emlékverseny), a Chill Boat at sunset, and a kids’ pirate-and-magician Children’s Boat (Gyerekhajó). July 26 closes Dumafüred with “In Time” (8,190 HUF) and Hadházi’s “The Smartest Man in the World” (8,590 HUF). Cruises and cinema listings continue July 27–Aug 2. July 28, “Be Good Unto Death” (Légy jó mindhalálig) plays at the Pannon Castle Theatre (Pannon Várszínház), BSZKK Open-Air Stage (8,500 HUF ≈ 23 USD). July 30: another disco Party Boat.
August: Blue Ribbon, Wine Weeks, Classics
July 30–Aug 1, the 58th Raiffeisen Blue Ribbon Grand Prix (Kékszalag) sails from Balatonfüred. Aug 1 features a Children’s Boat and a Chill Boat. Aug 3–9: more cruises and cinema; Aug 6: disco Party Boat; Aug 6–9: Hungarian Sailing Federation Big Boat Championship. Aug 7: another city rabbi walk and guided visit at the House of Jewish Excellence. Aug 7–30, Balatonfüred Wine Weeks (Balatonfüredi Borhetek) pour the region’s best along the promenade. Aug 8 repeats the kids’ cruise and Chill Boat. Aug 10–16 extends boats and cinema listings. Aug 11 brings “The Jungle Book” (A dzsungel könyve) to the BSZKK Open-Air Stage (8,500 HUF). Aug 12, “A Wife Begins at Forty” (A FELESÉG NEGYVENNÉL KEZDŐDIK) plays at the Outdoor Stage (8,900–10,900 HUF ≈ 24–29.5 USD). Organizers reserve the right to change times and programs.
