Hop a fast boat from Fonyód or a leisurely cruise from Balatonfenyves and make a day of it at the beloved Káptalantóti Artisan Market, with winery add-ons and a leafy arboretum escape built in. Sundays are sorted: boats at 10:00, back by 15:00, local flavors and Balaton panoramas all the way.
Two Ways Across the Water
From Fonyód, the morning starts with a fast boat to Badacsony. From there, a minibus whisks you to the Káptalantóti Market for 90 minutes of shopping and free time. Think farm produce, handmade goods, small-batch treats, and easygoing browsing. Price: about $25 per person (9,000 HUF). Runs every Sunday, departure 10:00, return by 15:00. The program runs with at least 10 participants, which can be totaled from separate individual bookings. Advance coordination and booking are required for the program to start; scheduled public transport services aren’t bound by this headcount.
Prefer a slower glide? Depart Balatonfenyves aboard the Szent Benedek sightseeing boat, land in Badacsony, then continue by minibus to the same market for 1.5 hours of browsing. Price: about $33 per person (12,000 HUF). Also Sundays, 10:00 to 15:00. This version requires a minimum of 15 participants to launch, combined from individual bookings; again, prearranged, prebooked start only, with scheduled routes exempt from the limit.
Make It an Afternoon to Sip
Both routes can be upgraded with afternoon tastings.
– Folly Arboretum & Winery: wander among rare trees with 90 minutes of free time, paired with three tastings—choose syrups or wines.
– Badacsony Wineries: head to Istvándy and Laposa for three wine tastings at each cellar.
From Fonyód, the upgraded day is about $44 per person (16,000 HUF). From Balatonfenyves, it’s about $58 per person (21,000 HUF). Both options keep the Sunday timing consistent, 10:00 departure, 15:00 return.
When It’s Running
Sundays through June are on the board, including 2026.06.07., 06.14., 06.21., 06.28., all departing from Fonyód. More dates can be added as the season rolls. The organizers reserve the right to change times and programs.
