Balatonfüred rolls into summer 2026 with festivals, concerts, cultural pop-ups, wine, sailing, cinema, stand-up marathons, and kid-friendly cruises spread across town. Many tickets are available online, and lots of programs repeat weekly, so you can arrive almost any time and find something happening by the lake.
Set sail, stretch out, settle in
Cruises are the season’s backbone: sétahajózás (leisure boat trips) runs in frequent blocks from June 15–18, June 22–25, June 29–July 2, and continues almost weekly through August, while hajókirándulás (excursions) pop up most weekends. Special sailings include the Chill Boat from Balatonfüred with sunset views, laid-back music, and cocktails on June 20, 27; July 4, 11, 18, 25; August 1, 8, 15, 22. Party Boats (Bulihajó) depart July 9, 16, 23, 30 and August 6, 13 from the Hajóállomás (Port). For families, Gyerekhajó (Kids’ Boat) cruises promise pirates, magicians, treasure hunts, and games on July 25, August 1, 8, 15.
Moviegoers get a weekly Balatonfüred cinema program running June 15–21, June 22–28, June 29–July 5, and continuously each week through August 23. If you prefer a slower pace, International Day of Yoga lands June 17 at 5:30 p.m. on the Tagore Promenade by the Széchenyi statue.
Exhibitions with extras
Two art openings hit June 19. Graphic designer Milán Takács unveils “From Matter to Light” at the Arács Community House (Arácsi Népház, Lóczy Lajos u. 62.) at 5 p.m., opened by museum educator Orsolya Nyitrai with live folktronica-downtempo by Holb Levente “Zsörk.” Expect paper-based but digitally made collages, experimental images, poster and logo works, and analog photos. Open until August 24 during venue hours (Mon, Thu 10 a.m.–4 p.m.; Wed noon–4 p.m.). At 6 p.m., Andrea Weichinger opens “Cloud and Water – Contemplation in the Landscape” at the Huray Villas, followed by a free guitar concert by Gáspár Thorpe. Free tie-ins at the Huray Villas: June 20, 9 a.m. yoga and breathwork with the artist; June 26, 6 p.m. Folly Arboretum showcase; September 18, 6 p.m. architect Miklós Weichinger on Balaton architecture; September 25, 5 p.m. BBC correspondent Nick Thorpe talks about the Carpathians and the Danube via his books and films. The show is free until September 27 during the neighboring Tourinform office hours.
Music, museums, and a guitar takeover
June 18 brings a Summer-Welcoming Concert by the Bem Memorial Choir with Gabriella Csikhon and Attila Sári. The Balatonfüred International Guitar Festival runs June 20–27. Also on June 20: Night of Museums (Múzeumok Éjszakája) lights up venues around town; a “Tales in the Grass” picnic at the Huray Villas at 6 p.m. shares stories by Elek Benedek and Zsuzsanna Czipri, read by Edit Szabadi; and stand-up stars Eszter Ráskó and András Péter Kovács headline a Dumaszínház summer kick-off at the Balaton Leisure and Conference Center (from $26.60).
Tours, heritage walks, and outdoor theater
Guided Jewish heritage walks led by an expert guide, “Füred Rabbi – Synagogue Walk – City Tour – House of Jewish Excellence,” appear June 27 and July 18, with more dates in August. Sports on the water, wheels on land
July is peak action: the Allianz Bay Crossing & SUP Challenge hits July 11. Cycling fans can join Túrajó – Füredi KERÉKkaland on July 4 (from $10.70), plus walking tours “From Tree to Forest” also on July 4 (from $10.70). The 58th Raiffeisen Blue Ribbon Grand Prix (Kékszalag), Lake Balaton’s legendary sailing marathon, runs July 30–August 1. The Hungarian Sailing Federation’s Big Boat Championship follows August 6–9. The White Ribbon – Szabolcs Izsák Memorial Race (Fehér Szalag – Izsák Szabolcs Emlékverseny) sails July 25.
Comedy takeover: Dumafüred 2026
From July 17–26, Dumafüred turns Balatonfüred into the country’s comedy capital. Highlights at Dumaszínház/BSZKK include:

Füred Art Week, an open-air arts market, runs July 24–26. The storied Anna Festival is July 21–26, culminating in the 201st Anna Ball (Anna-bál) on July 25. August starts bubbly with the 6th Arács Sparkling (VI. Arácsi Pezsgés) on August 1 and flows into the long-running Balatonfüred Wine Weeks from August 7–30 along the lakeside. Concerts spice up August: Crazy Little Queen Tribute Band on August 14 (from $26.50 to $31.80), and on August 21 Best of Hungária – Budapest Rock ’n’ Roll Band with special guests Gábor Novai and Viki Marót (from $26.50 to $34.40). On August 15, Attila Kökény & Viktor Rakonczai bring the “See You Again…” tour to the BSZKK outdoor stage (from $45.10).
Side trips and summer school vibes
Beyond Balatonfüred, look for the Kőröshegy Wine & Gastro Picnic on June 20 in nearby Kőröshegy. The region also rolls out recurring Sailing Tours (Vitorlástúra), Kayak Adventure Tours (Kajak élménytúra), and SUP Yoga (SUP jóga) across June–September on rotating dates—perfect for turning a beach day into a micro-adventure.
Rounding off the calendar: organist Gergely Rákász plays MOZART on July 1 at the Evangelical Church (from $16.70). The Hungarian Summer Salsa Festival hits July 7–13. And the pink rafts of Night of Museums, family boats, and chilled sunset decks make sure every weekend has a Balaton moment.
