Budapest Jazz Club is rolling out a busy, star-studded 2026 with live shows, jam sessions, and special showcases that keep the city’s jazz pulse thumping well into the night. The club’s concert hall is kitted out with top-tier tech, while its nostalgic café and modern bistro make it an easy all-day hangout—drop in by day, stay for the music after dark. Concerts start at 8:00 p.m., with the wildly popular jam sessions running Tuesday to Saturday and kicking off after 10:00 p.m. The club is in District 13 at 1136 Budapest, Hollán Ernő St. 7 (Hollán Ernő u. 7.), and remains the capital’s go-to for quality sound, a warm atmosphere, and a mix of Hungarian greats and international guests.

June: Jams, Quartets, and Harmony Workshops

June opens with the BJC Café Jam featuring the Gábor Juhász Trio on June 11, paired the same night with the Fidelio Jazz Night spotlighting the Balázs Bágyi New Quartet. On June 12, the Free BJC Jam Session welcomes Sándor Molnár & Friends, while Harmónia Jazzműhely hosts Jazzation, bringing rich vocal textures to the club’s stage. June 13 doubles down: a Free BJC Jam Session with the István Gyárfás Trio, a celebratory set titled “The First 50…” – musical festivities with friends – and a year-end concert from the Collective Alternative Music Workshop (Kollektív Alternatív Zeneműhely), showcasing collaborative, exploratory sounds.

Mid-month, Wednesday Open Jam lands on June 17 with the Péter Pintér Trio, followed by June 18’s BJC Café Jam with the Noémi Nagy Quartet. That same evening, Bartók Conservatory (Bartók Konzi) year-end exam concerts begin—a window into Hungary’s next wave of jazz talent—continuing June 19 alongside a Free BJC Jam Session led by the Károly Gáspár Trio. June 20 keeps the momentum with the János Egri Trio helming a Free BJC Jam Session, and Harmónia Jazzműhely presenting Luiza Zan & the István Gyárfás Trio—a soulful blend of voice and guitar-driven swing.

The month’s final stretch highlights student-driven creativity and curated nights: LFZE Open Jam with the Levente Bédy Trio on June 23, and Stella Jazz Night with Organ Station. On June 24, Wednesday Open Jam: Iván Nagy Classic Jam meets a standalone set by Fröx Trio, expanding the club’s sonic palette. June 25 brings a double bill: Jegymester.hu presents the Marcus Lee Trio with their Old Songs album release, and a return of the BJC Café Jam with the Gábor Juhász Trio. June 26 invites the János Egri Trio for a Free BJC Jam Session and introduces Pastell Contemporro; June 27 closes with a Free BJC Jam Session by the József Balázs Trio and a performance from Cafuné. Rounding things out on June 30, LFZE Open Jam features the Dóra Moldovai Quartet, followed by ALERANT Jazz Night with Budapest Bossa Nova (Budapest Bossanova), delivering breezy, urbane grooves.

July: Camps, Classics, and Summer Swings

July opens with the Frankie Látó Quartet on July 3, setting a virtuoso tone. The club’s beloved BJC Music Camp (BJC Zenetábor) runs July 7–9, building skills by day and channeling that energy into the club’s communal spirit by night. Between camp days, the Attila Kiss Band takes the stage on July 9, and the Gypsy Jazz Band steps in on July 10 for a night of nimble strings and hot-club flair. The month also features a standout collaboration on July 16: Egri Jr. Trio featuring Attila László, pairing generational groove with seasoned guitar craft.

August: Festival Mode and Open-Air Vibes

August belongs to the Malomvölgy Festival, presented by Budapest Jazz Club on August 13, 14, and 15. Expect a curated long weekend that bottles the club’s essence and pours it into a festival setting—artists, improvisation, and the unmistakable BJC atmosphere transported to a summer stage.

November: Winter Warm-Up

As the nights draw in, a family favorite returns: on November 22, Vilmos Gryllus: Winter Concert (Gryllus Vilmos: Téli koncert) brings seasonal warmth and gentle melody to the club’s acoustic sweet spot—an inviting way to drift into the holidays.

Where to Find It—and Why You’ll Stay

The club is a quick hop from the city’s business, shopping, and dining axes, but it keeps a timeless feel: a cozy, old-world café charm up front, modern bistro plates alongside, and a hall designed for fidelity in the back. It’s not just the names on the bill—though the lineup blends veterans with fresh blood—it’s the club’s feel: a place to learn, listen, linger, and play. Whether you’re a die-hard jazz head or a curious newcomer, there’s an open seat, a late jam, and a reason to come back tomorrow.
