Tours start at 10:00 a.m. from the Parliament (Országház) Visitor Centre, Kossuth Lajos Square (Kossuth Lajos tér) 1–3, in the 5th District. Capacity is limited and registration is required by 10:00 a.m. the day before via the provided email; entry is granted upon showing the confirmation email, with a maximum of 30 people per tour. Admission is free.
What the exhibition covers
Split into eight chapters in chronological order, the exhibition traces the roots, birth, and evolution of Hungarian parliamentarism from the Middle Ages to the democratic transition. The opening section spans the earliest assemblies through the age of the estate-based Diets. The second unit tracks developments up to 1918: the rise of the modern parliament from the reform-era Diets to the establishment and consolidation of representation grounded in new principles. The third part sums up the turbulent path between 1918 and 1990, charting detours, experiments, and restarts.
