Budapest’s beloved Sunday kids’ program is back with a fresh spin. The Zsilip Jewish Sunday School (Zsiliputi Zsidó Vasárnapi Iskola) relaunches at the Zsilip Center, a two-level playhouse packed with classrooms, games, and a community vibe. Sessions run Sundays 10:00–12:15, with a youthful, energetic team welcoming children and teens ages 4–14 for hands-on learning, holiday prep, and tradition-rich fun. Families have long memories of these lively mornings — the games, the laughter, and the friendships last well beyond a single semester. This fall, they’re doubling down on creativity, community, and values that stick for life.

Who It’s For
Everyone from the tiniest newcomers to teens on the brink of their bar/bat mitzvah is invited. Whether you’re just getting to know Jewish stories or already planning to help lead younger kids, there’s a seat for you. The school is split into age-based groups with tailored activities and a common thread: playful learning, tradition, and community.
Group I: Ages 4–6 — Hullám Group
Green-themed Sundays full of stories, heroes, crafts, and discovery. Expect lots of play, creativity, and laughter as Jewish tales come alive and a tight-knit mini-community forms. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
Group II: Ages 7–9
A creative playground of Jewish stories, games, and good vibes kicking off in September. They can’t wait to meet as many smiling “little shells” as possible and dive into shared adventures. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
Group III: Ages 10–11 — Yam Group
A cheerful, close community where kids create, play, laugh, and explore. Count on stories, crafting, new friendships, and a generous dose of good humor every week. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
Group IV: Ages 12–13 — Bar/Bat Mitzvah Club
The BMC brings positive energy to Sunday mornings with conversations on values and traditions, plus your own big questions. Look for games, crafts, shared thinking, creative challenges, projects, and standout experiences — all about becoming a full member of the community. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
Group V: Ages 13–14 — Future Madrich Training
MKZ trains tomorrow’s madrichim (youth leaders) every week. Learn how to model values, lead with warmth, and support younger kids. Sessions cover children’s needs and development, with a strong, joyful Jewish spirit throughout. Time: Sundays 10:00–12:15.
