Budapest’s Zsilip Center in the 13th District, Újpesti rakpart 1, turns learning into play this July with family-friendly Jewish heritage programs inside a two-level playhouse packed with study rooms. The community vibe is the point: kids dive into hands-on discovery while adults catch thoughtful teachings nearby, all under one buzzing roof.
Friday Night Warm-Up
Péntekecske on Friday evening, 2026.07.10, brings a mini Shabbat welcome just for kids at the Zsiliputi playhouse, while adults head to the synagogue for Rabbi Glitzi’s talk. A madricha leads playful sessions for children on the weekly Torah portion, Shabbat, and current holidays, using pictures, stories, and plenty of games. Attentive listeners get gifts — there’s even a raffle. Bring the whole family and make Shabbat a shared learning moment.
Sunday School, Supercharged
On 2026.07.12, Zsilip relaunches the Zsiliputi Jewish Sunday School, a refreshed take on the beloved Sunday tradition that hundreds of children still rave about. From 10:00 to 12:30, a young, enthusiastic team welcomes ages 4–14 for age-group activities that:
– prep together for upcoming holidays,
– explore mitzvot together,
– get hands-on with traditions,
– and build values meant to last a lifetime.
Whether you’re little, a tween, a teen-in-training, or approaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah, this is built for you. The playhouse’s two floors and many study rooms keep energy high and learning joyful.
